Pumpkinfest

We spent today at the Carleton Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze, just outside of Everett. For a late October day, we had beautiful weather akin to an Indian Summer. It was a wonderful Pacific Northwest outing.

Last year, we neglected the pumpkin and gourd part of the autumn ritual and focused on turning Liora into a pumpkin herself for several Halloween get-togethers (see last October's blogs). This year, we began a hopefully long tradition of picking our own pumpkins. Liora did not exactly pick the pumpkins this year, nor did she seem very excited about the copious child-sized, orange ball-like objects dotting the fields around her. However, she was very excited about riding in the wheelbarrow, pushing the wheelbarrow and using pumpkins as a stool. (Did I say yet that Liora enjoys sitting? She can stand and sit on our front steps for a straight 10 minutes.)

We also discovered her love for corn on the cob. She ate half of Tama's and then her own. It may be a heavenly mix between the loveliness of sweet corn and pain relief from teething.
