Liora in leaves

In front of our new home is a tall, lovely weeping birch tree. It's branches are like a willow, just rising toward the sky before gracefully bending to the ground in long strands of small leaves. As the only tree in front of our house, and the tallest one on the block, it provides a striking centerpiece for our front view. It also sheds golden yellow leaves by the the thousands. They've been turning since we arrived in mid-September and are still providing us with a carpet of gold.

Here Liora and I are playing in a copious mound of leaves. I really enjoyed covering her up like sand on a beach. We also both enjoy throwing up handfuls of leaves to watch them fall to the ground. Thank you, my daughter, for simple pleasures.
