It looks like we are beginning to get Liora, version 1.1. She's still a newborn, but she's becoming more interactive with us and her world.
Clutching things, moving towards sounds, looking you in eye, responding to touch, and making declaratory sounds.
Her initial sounds were very soft, grunt-like and cute. The new sound is a short, stacatto burst of "ah!" and she gives it when she is happy (or what appears to be happy). The volume is from her wail repetoire, but in this case, she is not in distress.
Looking forward, I can only hope (and pray) that version 1.2 includes sleeping at night, sleeping for longer than 3 hours and an improved digestive system. I'd even settle for regularly scheduled colic - right now, her colic periods are erratic and unpredictible. Sure keeps us on our toes!
